Prepare to shatter your preconceptions of how a large luxury sports saloon should look. Constructed using aerospace-inspired aluminium technology, the all new XJ challenges the notion that large cars should be conservative or restrained.
It is, quite simply, the most seductive and confident interpretation yet of our thrilling new design language.
The new XJ is a spacious four-door saloon with the body of a sports coupé. It combines sculptural elegance with a clear sense of visual drama. The streamlined profile and sweeping roofline help make this the most aerodynamic Jaguar XJ ever, with a drag coefficient of just 0.29.
Seen from the front, the New XJ is low and wide with a bold, deep-set mesh grille, flanked by slender, swept-back Xenon light clusters.
The wide bonnet, sculpted power bulge and muscular wheel arches impart a forward-biased dynamic, a promise of exhilarating performance before the car has even turned a wheel.
The striking teardrop shape of the side window graphic accentuates a feeling of length and elegance. Sleek lines are complemented by a taut waistline that possesses a natural tension as it fades from the front arch, into the middle section of the car, before reappearing as a strong haunch towards the rear.
The sleek, seductive profile houses a panoramic glass roof which is standard on all new XJ models.
Extending the full width of the roof, and sweeping back from the top of the windscreen to the front of the rear seat area, it floods the cabin with natural light and heightens the feeling of interior space.
The rear design is simple and elegant. In another stunning break with convention, LED light clusters flow down the rear wings, following the line of the boot opening. Each features three dramatic vertical red strips; the claw marks of a cat.
